Our Process

Introduction

At your request, we will schedule a brief, no cost “Get Acquainted” meeting at our office. At the meeting, we will introduce you to our services and review our process. We will also have a chance to get to know you - your overall financial situation, your concerns, your goals and dreams. At the conclusion of the meeting, we will provide you with a proposal for how we think we can best serve you, including a fee estimate or fixed fee quote.

  • Discovery

After we decide to work together, we will provide you a list of documents that we will need from you to complete your custom financial plan.  We will gather additional information via questionnaires, forms, and discussion.  During this step we will thoroughly review your financial goals and discuss the relative importance of each one.

  • Analysis

During this time we will analyze the information you provided and develop your written financial plan.  For each financial area that we review, we will provide an overview of your current situation, with observations and recommendations designed to help you meet your goals.  Along the way, we may have questions or need additional information, so we may be calling or emailing you for clarification.

  • Presentation

When the financial plan is complete, we will meet with you to review our findings and recommendations.  You will have a chance to ask questions or request additional analyses if you would like.  We will then go over your Action Plan, a detailed list of what needs to be done, when it should be done, and by whom.  You will receive a copy of the plan presentation document, either in paper or electronic format.
  • Implementation

You may choose to implement the Action Plan items yourself (though you may need the help of other financial professionals such as estate attorneys, insurance agents, or accountants in some cases).  Alternately, at any time you may contact us if you would like our help with any Action Plan details.
  • Maintenance

Financial planning is not a one time event.  Just like maintaining good physical health is aided by seeing your doctor on a regular basis, you will benefit financially from having your financial plan reviewed from time to time, and updated as needed.  This can be accomplished by a variety of arrangements depending on your needs and circumstances.  At a minimum we will check in with you a few weeks after the plan presentation and determine what type of follow up is most suitable.
